On 31st March 2014, the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education in the North Aegean held its main EDUGLOCAL launching-presentation event in Mytilene-Lesvos.

The meeting was quite successful as the 42 primary and secondary education participants (educative policy makers, school advisors, other executives and school headmasters) showed an active interest in the project, its aims and goals, the 5 thematic areas covered, as well as its methodological approach. Dissemination proposals and invitations followed the event and some of the participants have already started acting as multipliers of our action.

Though the project primarily aims to involve Secondary school students, what is quite interesting in the North Aegean Region is the ‘intense’ wish of Primary school headmasters, teachers and, of course, students, who have learnt about our project through our site, the Newsletters and the local press, to join Secondary Education in the Eduglocal actions, an idea we welcome and fully support. As formal and informal education is a non-stop and inexhaustible process which starts early in life, we believe that students (of all types of schools) should “have their own share” in Eduglocal and make their own unique contribution to Glocal Learning.

Next step will be the scheduled activity for mapping the activities carried out by the educative centres with CSO’s they are working with (or wish to work with) in terms of informal education in any field/area/island they choose.
